Thanks! / 01.16.12
Just wanted to offer a quick "thank you" to everyone who came out the other night to the Blue Planet. It was fun to be back on stage after a long layoff!
My set was recorded and I plan on offering a few tracks as downloads as soon as I can.
Thanks again, everyone!

"Don't call it a comeback."
After two years off, it's time. To paraphrase a Camper Van Beethoven song — which actually sampled this from somewhere else — the music's in me and I've got to let it out. And so, on January 14, 2012 I'll be playing live at the Blue Planet, in the Gardner Theatre, upstairs at the Market House in Meadville PA. It will be me, an acoustic guitar, and some mood lighting.
I do not intend this to be a one-off thing. I would love to put a proper band together to support these songs. I would love to record another EP (or full-length album). Regardless of what happens, you'll hear about it here on the newly revamped jesselaverymusic.com first.
Thanks for listening!

Bio /
Jesse Lavery — Singer / Songwriter
Singer-songwriter-guitarist Jesse Lavery is back after a two-year layoff, bringing his blend of rock, alt-country, folk and soul back to the local stage. Lavery is a veteran of the local music scene having played as a solo artist, in his own loud college rock band, a popular local classic rock cover band, and even in church praise bands.
In 2007 he released 5000, a four song EP that focused on the rock side of his stylistic yin/yang. For the last three summers he's played classic rock covers with local band The Square Roots.
Born and raised in Meadville PA, Lavery learned to sing harmonies from his church-organist mom and learned to appreciate outlaw country and 70's folk from his dad. (Lavery's son is named "Cash," if that tells you anything.)
The next chapter in his musical autobiography seems like it's heading in a more stripped-down, country-tinged direction. But he's never met a cranked-up Telecaster he didn't like - so we'll see.
